Secret Artworks 2012

This year I was invited to participate in a local art organizations charity event to raise money for it's operating budget.  The great thing about this event is that it raises money they use to give local artists and teen interns a job over the summer.  Artworks Cincinnati is the organization.  They have created many awesome community art projects where they employ local artists to design murals and things and then hire tees from the area to help paint and or build the projects.  It helps to bring art to the community at large.

The idea is to create a 5x7 inch art piece and not sign the front but, fill out a card you glue on the back with your information.  Then these are sold at the annual event for $75 to raise money.  Over 300 local artists participate.  My entry for this year is shown above and I am happy to say it sold. It's tile is "Ancient Astronaut Theory". I love doing these little relief sculpts.  I am planning to go more in that direction with some assemblage style pieces as well as little shadow boxes and shrines.  I feel the need to try something different for awhile.  Hope you have a great weekend one and all.
