Cody Goodin - The artistic and spiritual journey of Cody Goodin

I wanted to post a few things that are new. I have been busy getting ready for my studio open house on May 2nd and 3rd. This is a small sculpture about 5x7 inches called "Rusty Torso". Made it from model magic applied to art board and then textured and painted.

Here is a pic of my finally completed winter sculpture to honor the rune called Isa or Ice. It symbolizes stasis, hybernation, potential and dreams. I made this out of wire, fabric, wood and lots of acrylic mediums and paint. It is 18x28 inches approximately.

This is a copy of the challenge project created for our monthly challenge at the art store where I work. The idea for these challenges is to get us making art and stretch our creative abilites. We pick a theme or subject for each one. This months challenge was to create a comic or graphic image inspired by our favorite artist in this genre. I chose Dave McKean as my inspiration artist. I love his dark images and techniques of combining traditional media and digital techniques to create his work. I first discovered him through the movie Mirror Mask. So, here's my inspriation titled "Zero and the Phoenix".

Well, I think spring has finally sprung here in Codyland. This is a shot of my Pussy willow tree which is in full bloom. I missed taking shots of the little furry kittys that appear before it blooms. I find this tree so fascinating. Hope you enjoy it.
