Save the followers

Hello my fellow bloggers and artists.  I thought I'd share a few things that are flash back pieces.  I saw that a follower ditched the blog and realized people must not want to read about my teaching exploits, but rather see art stuff.  So, to satisfy that need I decided to share some fun things.  This first one is a drawing I did a while back when I was thinking of doing a series of elemental spirits.  I have come back to this idea again and figured I might as well revisit some past ideas.  I also wanted to get my scanner fired up.  Haven't used it in a while. The next two are some paper dolls I developed for a paper doll class I taught at Artistic Figures In Cloth and also for my local doll guild.  I want to create a class to propose for next years Artiscape in Columbus.  These are really fun and I get to play with angelina fiber.  They scan kind of interesting too. This one is articulated which is always fun to play with. So, we shall see what I can come up with.  I

Artiscape Weekend, Teaching and Fun

Well, I am back from my awesome weekend to Artiscape.  It is a yearly mixed media workshop conference put on by European Papers in Columbus Ohio.  It is a wonderful mixed bag of artistic journeys.  I had the pleasure of teaching two classes and giving an artist demo on the first night.  Above is a picture of the view in the topiary garden that was down the street from our hotel.  It is a recreation of the famous George Surat painting Sunday on the Island of La Grand Galotte or something like that.  Anyway the figures are all recreated in topiary. Here is a picture of a couple of the characters.  I thought the park was lovely.  It is actually on the grounds of the original school for the Deaf. Saturday I taught acrylic mediums for mixed media class.  This was an introduction to some of the fun acrylic mediums on the market.  My students created a set of four ATC sized pieces using the mediums.  It was so much fun.
