New Work - What's in a name?

Hello friends out there in blog land.  I hope you have been doing well.  It has been a rather interesting few weeks since I posted the Artworks piece.  I am continuing on my personal healing and enlightenment journey through my art making   I have been experiencing a shift in what I want to create.  I have been doing just a little creative journeying to explore where my muse or soul self as I like to call him wishes me to go next. My second piece in the personal healing journey is what I like to call my miser self.  It is the part of me that is preventing me from attracting and experiencing abundance and prosperity in my life.  So, as with my abandonment issue I created a symbolic miser me in physical form.  His name is Satse which means miser in Norwegian.  Yes, I have a theme of names that start with S and it is actually kind of a coincidence really.  But, I am going with it. As was mentioned in an earlier post I ...

Secret Artworks 2012

Image
This year I was invited to participate in a local art organizations charity event to raise money for it's operating budget.  The great thing about this event is that it raises money they use to give local artists and teen interns a job over the summer.  Artworks Cincinnati is the organization.  They have created many awesome community art projects where they employ local artists to design murals and things and then hire tees from the area to help paint and or build the projects.  It helps to bring art to the community at large. The idea is to create a 5x7 inch art piece and not sign the front but, fill out a card you glue on the back with your information.  Then these are sold at the annual event for $75 to raise money.  Over 300 local artists participate.  My entry for this year is shown above and I am happy to say it sold. It's tile is "Ancient Astronaut Theory". I love doing these little relief sculpts.  I am planning to go more in that ...

Happy Saturday everyone.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend on this warm November day.  I thought I would share the progress of a new healing art project.  He is actually more of a talisman like doll.  This fellow will represent the miser part of me.  So, let me explain a little bit of the idea behind this doll.  In my world, the miser is that part of us that can be many things as it relates to not letting go of something.  It can also be the part of us that is the stingy person inside.  My miser represents stinginess, hoarding, clutching onto beliefs, behaviors and also physical stuff that doesn't allow us to move or have the ability to accept what the universe wants to give us because our hands are full.  We have no more room in our lives.  This little guy came to the surface shortly after Sam and is related to Sam in many ways. I am looking forward to getting to know this guy.  How he operates in my life.  Wh...
