Quirks, Tagging, Art?

I recently found myself being tagged. I was really perplexed as to the point. Is this the blog version of those annoying email chain letter things? You know the lists of seemingly unrelated things that are supposed to reveal something new about you. So, not to be a total spoil sport about it, I am acknowledging being tagged by an artist friend Cynjon Noah http://www.cynjonnoah.blogspot.com/ The tag suggests that we list six Quirks about ourselves. Quirks? I think all my odd bits of behavior is absolutely normal, not!

So, here goes:

1. I have to sleep with all the lights out and a fan going.
3. I can only drink milk if it ice cold. Otherwise what's the point.
3. I will stop reading a book after just one page if I know I will hate it.
4. When I work a 9-5 shift at work I must eat my lunch at twelve noon.
5. Love the smell of citrus fruit.
6. Hate having dirty hands.

Now for the spoiled sport of me, I am not passing this along as my friends whose blogs I know would hate me for it.

Have a good Sunday everyone and remember to get yourself outside if you can to enjoy Ms. Mother Nature. She's worth it.

No, problem. We all follow our own beat. It was fun thinking of the quirks though.

Projects a plenty

Hello out there on this rather balmy Sunday afternoon. I hope you all are having a nice weekend. I thought I'd post the three projects I have been working on for the past three months. I have been making some books for an upcoming show at Kennedy Heights Art Center here in Cincinnati. The show is called "Contents Unknown" and the premise is books in containers. Now the idea was to conceal a book in a container. But, many of us in the show have taken liberties on this. Some of mine aren't obvious when you look at the box. But, since we have to display the contents as well it will be obvious what the box held. This first set of images is for a book called "Memories in Blue". This book is a sort of picture/diary of the pivotal moments in my life that made me who I am. Some good and some not so good. I wanted to give an honest yet abbreviated snapshot of my life and those moments that shaped me. I created the images as cyanotypes on cotton fabric. S

ADO Art Dolls Only Elements Challenge - Water

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Anniversary Giveaway of Sorts
