Getting Back To...

I rarely do in the process pics. Mostly cause I don't think to do it. But, for this project I had my camera near by. This is another in my tea/coffee cup creature series. This guy is going to be a coffee goblin. His whole reason for being is to make your coffee bitter. You defenently don't want this guy to show up in your coffee maker. He is an inspriation from the Spiderwick Chronicle series. The doll club I belong to locally is having a challenge based on the Spiderwick series. This will be the first of several, I hope. This is the intial sculpt before I get to the refinement stage. Hopefully, he'll be finished for the opening of a show where I will be the featured artist. I will post more on that a bit later in the week.

A big thank you to all of you who keep coming back and checking out my space here.

Hi Cody,
Your goblin is wonderful. You do such beautiful work.....But, Im a coffee drinker, so hopefully he won't be slipping into by cup! I enjoyed your blog.

Hey, Cody! I'm the person Sandy wanted the blog link for so I could see your coffee goblin. HE ROCKS! I can't wait to see him finished if he already looks this awesome! LOVE your work! AND your blog! I'm about to read your former posts!

What an imaginative idea, and so faithful to Spyderwick! I would tell him how delightful he is, but will refrain for fear he interprets that to be an invitation to join me for coffee..

More please!

Hey Cody,

He came out really great! What did you use for the eyes? Can't wait to see him when he's finished!

Thanks Kai,Judia, Cat and others,

I appreciate the feedback. He is the first of many I hope to come. I just finished sculpting another House Goblin pair whom are trying to tease cats. I will post when I get a pic. Cat the eyes are made out of hand blown glass marbles. I plan on painting puples in.
