Wow! Finally a new post

Well, it seems like it's been forever since I posted.  I have been seriously unmotivated to make art this past month.  It could be the winter blues, SAD or just plain bummed.  A cycle I am extremely familiar with  as I tend to do this every couple of years.  It is a signal that I am wanting to try something different.  But, before I embark on unexplored territory I have a little sculpt I made to try and get me out of the slumpville I am in.  It is something I dub the house goblin.  We all probably have one of these little rascals running around playing tricks on us.  I know I do, in my studio and at home.

He is polymer clay on canvas and has blue glass eyes.  He holds the key to your house.  This little guy measures 5x5 inches.  I am showing him off at the studio open house next weekend at the Essex Studios here in Cincinnati. You can click on the name and go to the web page that has just been newly updated.  It should be a fun time and there will be plenty of art.  If you are in the area you can stop by and say hi I'm in studio #251.

I want to thank you all for sticking around.  I am hoping to get some new things going soon.  I have to actually get my booty out and buy some supplies.  Also, if any of you are attending AFIC (Artistic Figures In Cloth) in Columbus Ohio in April, look me up.  I will be taking a three day sculpting class there.  It's loads of fun.  Have a great week y'all.

Hi Cody....what a gorgeous little piece! He certainly looks as though he knows all your secrets from poking around through your stuff...great expression!
I hope the recent bout of melancholy is just the beginning of a renewed creativity for you...as I'm sure it will be.
All the best for next weekend and also for your AFIC class. Have fun!
Always look forward to your next post :-)

Cody he is amazing! I know what you mean about those cycles of uninspiration. I've had them too. Now I'm just incredibly busy.
I was going to attend that same sculpting class with Susie at AFIC but my bear show schedule has changed and I am focusing on getting bears done. I am itching to sculpt again and actually finish a doll. maybe this summer..

Hey Tami, we miss you at the guild and I miss seeing you and your amazing work. I hope you get a chance to get into the sculpting again. I am beginning to see some light now. The Essex show this weekend was a great validation for what I do. The visitors were so engaging and I actually sold two pieces.
