Angels among us...

I have finished my first two angels in my on going angel series. Not sure how many I will do, but here are two at least. This first one is titled "Angel of Decay" and is around 6x12 inches. I apologise for the not so great photos of these guys. They were taken rather hastily so I could post them tonight. The Tony awards are on and I just have to be planted in front of the boob tube for that show.

This angel is called "Angel of Twilight" and is the same size as the first one. I used a variety of painting techniques in addition to the adding of fabric to the foundation sculpt to hide the naughty bits a little. Also, this adds a bit of movement to the piece as well. I have to admit that these aren't really what I originally intended. My idea was to make them a little more in line with my fantasy sculpts. But, that is for the next few. These were also warm up pieces for the sculpts I am going to make for the Secret Artworks show this year. That's coming up this fall.

So, have a fabulous week my friends. I am planning on making some pieces for the GLBT pride week here in Cincinnati. I will post those when I have them completed.

Should be doing other things...like chores, but had to write to tell you how much I love your angels!! They are very inspiring!! I do have a question... What happed to the angel that had a prominent penis on it. It that the brownish stained one? OOhh can I say penis on your blog???

It just got covered up so much that the work in progress I remembered. Hugs!

Hi Marzel, they both had prominent members in the work in progress stage. I covered it up a bit with fabric. You can still see the impression on the brown one. Thanks for asking and looking at the art.

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Saying Thank You in a Giveaway

You aren't seeing things.  I have posted this piece before.  But, this time is different.  I wanted to celebrate two things in my little life.  First is hitting 140 followers here on this blog.  I am so honored by the loyal friends who come and visit me and my art goings on.  Thank you for that support and encouragement.  Secondly, a good friend and artist I know really inspired me with her own unique spiritual perspectives on giving.  So, MarZel this is to honor your wonderful contribution to my world as well.
