Monster afoot....

Not a happy sight to wake up to I am sure. This is my Bricks for Breast Cancer project for this year. Actually it is the head part of the piece and it is a work in progress, WIP. He is a paper and air dry clay over a brick. He will have a small figure of a woman reclining on the top of his head. The title of this piece will be "Taming the Monster". This is one charity art event I really love to do as it is a cause dear to my heart. I should have him finished by this weekend and will certainly post pictures of him completed. Oh, his eyes are hand blown marbles which I will be coloring yellow with alcohol based inks. Now don't get too used to me posting so often, I don't want to spoil all of you out there. Have a happy Tuesday everyone.

YIKES! I did Just wake up & saw this creepy cool looking monster waiting for me. Cody, I even didn't need my second cup to really wake up. LOL

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Saying Thank You in a Giveaway

You aren't seeing things.  I have posted this piece before.  But, this time is different.  I wanted to celebrate two things in my little life.  First is hitting 140 followers here on this blog.  I am so honored by the loyal friends who come and visit me and my art goings on.  Thank you for that support and encouragement.  Secondly, a good friend and artist I know really inspired me with her own unique spiritual perspectives on giving.  So, MarZel this is to honor your wonderful contribution to my world as well.
