1st Annual Halloween Giveaway!!!

I am doing one last giveaway for the year.  So, without further ado, here is Dark Angel Baby for my tribute to Halloween.  In order to have a chance at winning him you must fulfill the requirements below.

3. Tell me about your favorite Halloween thing.

Halloween, well there are many things that I love about Halloween, but one thing is for sure, I love cold weather, the wind blowing in the corn fields, running through the corn fields, baking apple pies and pumpkin bread. I love making spiced wine and sipping it on our porch listening to awesome music. I love watching scary movies, decorating for Halloween, creating witches in the form of an art doll. I love reading ghost stories, and taking those stories to my art journals. I guess you can say, I just freaking love Halloween, and I would LOVE TO WIN YOUR GIVEAWAY CODY. You are a wonderful and such a talented artist, and I'm so glad that you are in my life.

Oh wow, what a great little critter you've got there...would look great in my Muse Corner!! LOL My favorite Halloween thing...hmmm, I have many, but I'll narrow it down to 2...my little ghost teddy bear my grandsons gave me and a sugar skull from Mexico, actually, that's for Dia de los Muertos, but they all come together around the same time, so I decorate for both. Which reminds me, I better get off this thing and go decorate!!

I love Halloween too! And I love your DArk Angel Baby!

Hmm I love dressing up for Halloween... not to go to a party but to answer the door when the little kids ring the bell for candy~ I love little dressed up children and how sweet they say Trick of Treat.... Some little ones will walk right in to my house!

I love the Day of the Dead as well.... and have a few decorations that represent that.

I love the way Halloween makes everyone so playful! I don't hear people complaining that they "have to" celebrate Halloween; it's just a chance for everyone who chooses to enjoy themselves, maybe put on a different face for the day. Yay, Halloween!

Also those little peanut butter candies. Love those things.

Hi Cody,
I have loved reading your emails lately and seeing all your creations, they are truly wonderful with that dark mystical feel that I love.
Halloween is indeed my favorite holiday. I love to dress up ghoulish and doing the makeup is my favorite thing to do on my self and friends too. One year I won first prize twice; at the party I went to and then at a bar we later decided to haunt. I was dressed as a troll, made the whole costume of burlap, leaves, a little dirt thrown in and used a latex mask that I cut up and glued parts to my face with spirit gum, then further enhanced with makeup. It was a lot of fun. Just attended our cities monthly art walk and there were lots of young people dressed as zombies and such. So much fun to see the creativity.
I would of course love to add Dark Angel to my collection of ghoulish decorations. He is quite scary looking! I Love it.

Oh, your Dark Angel Baby is soooo cool.

My favorite part of Halloween is the wide array of creativity and imagination brought to life via decorations, costumes, art, recipes, etc.

Cody, I have been loving all the stuff you have been making lately. Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year. My most favorite thing about Halloween is that it is my anniversary. As of this year my hubby and I will have been married 19 years. We were even married in costume by a frog, or at least a guy in a frog suit. It was much fun and we invited all the neighboring trick or treaters in to help celebrate.

I love scary movies and this is the time of the year where they all come out of the vault and are shown. I'm not talking about gross ones where it is all about violence but ones that make you shudder and look at the dark room embracing you with fear! I have a DVD I bought with 50 scary movies. Most are black & white & almost all are cheesy...shall we say Christopher Lee as Dracula! I like making some popcorn, pop open a beer, get comfy on the couch with a blanket & three Scotties and just enjoy my hidden passion this time of the year.

My favorite halloween thing...hmmm...has to be the candy! It is the beginning of the 6-Month Candy Season! (Halloween to Easter). It is ghoulish for the waist line!

What a cool, creepy piece of art Cody!
I used to love to dress up and hand out candy to the neighbor kids. Now I live in a rural area and we don't have trick or treaters. So now my favorite thing is decorating the inside of the house with stuff I have made!

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Anniversary Giveaway of Sorts

Saying Thank You in a Giveaway

You aren't seeing things.  I have posted this piece before.  But, this time is different.  I wanted to celebrate two things in my little life.  First is hitting 140 followers here on this blog.  I am so honored by the loyal friends who come and visit me and my art goings on.  Thank you for that support and encouragement.  Secondly, a good friend and artist I know really inspired me with her own unique spiritual perspectives on giving.  So, MarZel this is to honor your wonderful contribution to my world as well.
