It's Monday! and here is another WIP teaser

Wow! It's Monday already and the start of another work week. I wish I could say in the studio, but unfortunately it isn't No, I too have a day job at a local art supply store. Fun you say? If you call standing on your feet for seven to eight hours, selling lots of art goodies but not able to play with them fun. Then I guess it is at that. Seriously, I have been doing the art store thing for over twenty years now and I am really tired. Anyhoo, off topic sorry. Below is another of my WIP pieces. He has been in the works for two months. Not because I am ignoring him. No, I haven't been to my studio away from home much this summer. That is where he resides at the moment and will probably be finished there.

This is a full body side view of him. He is the first of the earth goblin wizards. His name is Gyzel. He is considered a giant among his fellow wizards. Both in stature and accomplishments as he currently is on sabbatical from the School of Creation. Here he is being propped up until the Apoxy Sculpt is cured that is going to secure him to his base. Gyzel is polymer clay head, hands and feet. His body is a wrapped wire armature that has been covered in a layer of Apoxie Sculpt. I then applied a layer of texture with decorative papers. Then I painted him in a multi layer process to achieve his final color. He has synthetic fur hair and goatee.

Eventually he will be holding his travel spell book and a staff or walking stick.

This is a close up view of his head from the side. I couldn't position myself to get a good front view yet. One of the peculiar things about earth goblin wizards is that they all eventually end up hunch backed or bent over. No one knows why. I will post pictures of the finished Gyzel when that time comes. Hopefully by weeks end. Have a great Monday everyone.

OK, he is leaning on it so he doesn't fall over. What were you thinking? I needed something to keep him from tipping over while the Apoxie Sculpt cured that is fastening him to the base.
