New Sea Goblins for the first month of 2010

I know it's been a little bit since my last post.  Honestly I have been in a bit of a creative slump for me. Normally I can get at lest three pieces done in a week unless it is a big one.  But,I have retreated a bit this year.  Perhaps new things are beginning to grow beneath the surface of my creative mind.  Admittedly I do get bored easily if I stick with one medium for too long.  So, I am thinking I need to do some drawing or painting in addition to the sculpture to satisfy that void.  We shall see how that goes.  In the meantime, here are three little sea goblins I created using more of the lovely shells a friend gave me for Christmas. They are all polymer clay sculpts in sea shells.

This little guy loves his aqua blue shell.  He is really proud of his new home.  Some of the shells were painted and almost looked as if they had been cast out of clay.  They had this curious seam and were painted in bright colors.

Here is the last little guy for this set.  He is really shy.  But, he seems to have adapted quite well to his yellow shell home.

On a side note tomorrow I will be picking the winner of my monster giveaway.  SO stay tuned for that.  If you want to get in on it and you haven't yet.  Just scroll donw to the post it is only two away and enter.  Thanks again for visiting my blog.  I love you all out there.  You inspire me to keep creating.

Okay that blue guy is wonderful. He looks like this little old man I saw in ER one night. The guy had a real crooked nose like this monster. He told me he broke it falling off his wagon while driving through the streets of Paris during THE BIG ONE (WW1 Veteran) while watching the "ooolala ladies" waving at the American GIs.

I SOOOOO hear you on the creative "boredom" and need to shift projects. It's something I'm trying to address in the coming months via different means.

Loving the sea goblins!
