What's on my work table today?
Hello my friends and followers out there in blog land. Hope you are finding this week treating you good. I have been busy with all sorts of stuff. But, I wanted to take a minute to give you a peek into what is on my work table. As you can see, I have two things to share. I ordered some new Duochrome acrylic paints from Daniel Smith. These colors are just amazing. No one else makes colors like these yet. They are color shifting acrylics which add a punch to many of my projects. I am planning on some new painting projects and so much more this spring. So, I will keep you posted on my adventure in Codyland.
Here you can see the beginnings of a new sculpt that I am making from a recycled doll. Actually it's parts are from two different dolls. I love using these as armatures for totally different imaginings of these little toys. This one I am planning on doing a more detailed version of a sculpt I did a couple of years ago for a local art organizations charity auction.
The above piece is called the Oolah Bird, and I just love this piece. I almost wished I kept it. But, now I want to make a full sculpt based on this crazy character. Don't ask me why, but I have had this in my head for quite a while. We shall see how I pull this one off. It will not look exactly like the above piece but, have the same flavor so to speak.
There's been a big change in my work hours at the art store. This is going to allow me to spend lots more time in the studio and planning some new upcoming classes. I am also hoping to update and re-offer the Alchemy class this summer. I have been using the class for my own artist journey these past few months and it has been so rewarding.
Anyway, hope you stay tuned. I am really excited to see what I get going. Oh, and this newly acquired open time will let me keep this blog and other web stuff a bit more up to date.
Have a great weekend everyone.
