AFIC fun

I am having a great time here in Columbus Ohio at AFIC.  I just finished teaching my two day class and the students did outstanding work.  I will post some pics later of their dolls.  Here are my two pieces I had been working on before I left for the exhibits.  The first one is the stone caster goblin.  He is painted with texture mediums and paint to give him a stone like texture.



This is Goblin Boy Riding a Sled.  He was the paper clay head you saw in an earlier post.  He turned out well and unfortunately I couldn't photograph him at a good angel.  But, you can get an idea.  I loved how he turn ed  Well until next time.

Cody I was at AFIC on Sat as an obersver and got to see these 2 pieces. I am always amazed that no matter how good the picture it never does the piece justice. These are awesome, as so many pieces were. I was like a doll junkie overdosing.

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Anniversary Giveaway of Sorts

Saying Thank You in a Giveaway

You aren't seeing things.  I have posted this piece before.  But, this time is different.  I wanted to celebrate two things in my little life.  First is hitting 140 followers here on this blog.  I am so honored by the loyal friends who come and visit me and my art goings on.  Thank you for that support and encouragement.  Secondly, a good friend and artist I know really inspired me with her own unique spiritual perspectives on giving.  So, MarZel this is to honor your wonderful contribution to my world as well.
