More Sea Goblin WIP's

Here are a few more of the sea goblins after they have been baked.  See my earlier post for more details on the how and whys.


This is number five.


Here is number six and also the up close shot below.

The last one is made in a slightly larger shell and you can see that he is trying to fit himself inside the shell.



I will try and post the finished results tomorrow.  I still need to do the final stain coat on them all.

These are great!! I especially love the last one. You are the second person I have seen doing these...now I will have to read your earlier post to find out what this is all about!!!

Thank you very much. MarZel, Dawn from Odd Fae made some of her fairies in shells. That is what gave me the idea. I had a bunch of shells I needed to use for something.

ADO Art Dolls Only Elements Challenge - Water

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Second Chocolat Show Piece

Happy Tuesday out there to all my artist friends and beyond.  I wanted to post a quickie picture of the second piece for the upcoming Chocolat show at the Prairie Gallery here in Cincinnati.  He is the Cocoa Goblin.  As you can see he is accompanied by some little marshmallow critters.  He's polymer clay over a paper mache armature with glass marble eyes.  He is sitting in a cup my partners mom gave me since she thinks I collect cow stuff still.  She is a wonderful mom.  So, anyway hope you find him amusing.  Now I can focus on getting a few last minute pieces for Winterfair and the Essex Studios open house both coming up rapidly.  These are the last three shows of the year.  Then I can concentrate on my online class so my students have lots to do and learn.  Cheers to you all and Happy Turkey day to those in the USA.
