The Final Dearly Departed

Now it is time to say our final farewells to the dearly departed for this week at any rate. Above we have poor Auntie Sue. She worked in a paper mill and fell into a vat of glue. It was a sticky situation to say the least. But, alas poor Auntie Sue drowning in a vat of glue. She was 62.

Finally we need to say goodbye to fine Uncle Jake. His early demise from choking on carrot cake. Not as sweet an ending as he would have imagined.

I hope all my art friends and followers have enjoyed my silly foray into the Halloween season. I hope to find something else to post soon if I only can manage the time. Make lots of fun for yourselves out there.

I would say that Auntie Sue is well preserved now and poor Uncle Jake just wasn't lucky enough to have his cake and eat it too! ha ha
Now I'm being silly.

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Saying Thank You in a Giveaway

You aren't seeing things.  I have posted this piece before.  But, this time is different.  I wanted to celebrate two things in my little life.  First is hitting 140 followers here on this blog.  I am so honored by the loyal friends who come and visit me and my art goings on.  Thank you for that support and encouragement.  Secondly, a good friend and artist I know really inspired me with her own unique spiritual perspectives on giving.  So, MarZel this is to honor your wonderful contribution to my world as well.
