Long Absence

Sorry for the long absence. It has been a busy few weeks here in goblin land. It is back to school time at the University of Cincinnati. The art store where I work is across the street and we will be hoping this coming week as the hapless students return and go out in search of their art supplies. Anyhoo, here are two pics pretty similar of the view outside my studio last night. It was a gorgeous sunset. I could not believe the beautiful oranges and mauve's that were a blaze int he sky. A great start to Autumn.

Here is a slightly different shot of the sky. It was inspiring to say the least. Never fear though I have been making stuff and will post some pics of finished pieces in the next few days. Our studio will be participating in an open studio tour the first weekend in October. So I have to get everything finished and the place cleaned up. So, thank you all for being patient with me and I will be back in a few days with some actual artwork fingers crossed.

Cody we have all been MIA with fall catch ups and new back to school routines...its all good we are here when ya get in routine.

OK , without further ado here is my entry for the ADO Art Dolls Only challenge The Elements . Please go visit the ADO blog to see some of the great entries for this challenge. Introducing for the first time anywhere, the Mergoblin . He is the first of his kind to grace my blog and studio. Several of his relatives are planning a visit real soon. He is a polymer clay one of a kind sculpt. He has a recycled head that was made for an earlier project. The eyes are fresh water pearls that have been dyed. His tail is made from a type of willow tree. I know the photography isn't spectacular but, I wanted to get him up on the blog in time. Here is a closer view of his head area. This is the other side view. He is mounted on a wooden base suspended by a wire inserted into a brass tube. I painted the brass tube blue to match the stand. This was a fun challenge that got me to think outside my usual box. Hope you enjoy him.

Saying Thank You in a Giveaway

You aren't seeing things.  I have posted this piece before.  But, this time is different.  I wanted to celebrate two things in my little life.  First is hitting 140 followers here on this blog.  I am so honored by the loyal friends who come and visit me and my art goings on.  Thank you for that support and encouragement.  Secondly, a good friend and artist I know really inspired me with her own unique spiritual perspectives on giving.  So, MarZel this is to honor your wonderful contribution to my world as well.
